Afoodable was established in 1990 as a privately-owned South African business with world class vision, producing quality liquid marinades and sauces for the local and export markets. It is situated in the Food Production industrial area of Montague Gardens in Cape Town. The owners pride themselves on their ability to have a small well-motivated staff, many brought through the ranks from previously disadvantaged communities. Afoodable is now part of the Foods Division of the AECI Group, falling under subsidiary Lake Foods.
The company produces an extensive range of its own unbranded products for the catering and butchery markets as well as acting as a manufacturer and co-packer for larger local companies, including some retail outlets. Afoodable also produces an extensive selection of ethnic products for a group of local and international exporters. Export is done in conjunction with brand marketers, both locally and abroad.
